Mike Afergan was named Chief Technology Officer of Akamai in October 2005. He is a veteran of Akamai's distinguished engineering organization, having joined Akamai in 1999, and has served in various roles within Akamai's Engineering and Product Management departments, including Director of Technology Strategy and Director of Load Balancing and Mapping. In these leadership roles, he was instrumental in helping to drive innovation based on customer requirements—working on a variety of Akamai's products and directly with many of Akamai's largest customers.
Mr. Afergan returned to graduate school in September 2003, and came back to Akamai full time after receiving his PhD in Computer Science from MIT, where his research focused on networking and distributed systems.
Prior to Akamai, Mr. Afergan ran a software consulting company for over ten years, working for a variety of companies ranging from Bose and Fidelity to start-ups. He authored several trade magazine articles and books including Java Quick Reference (Macmillan), which has been translated into six languages. He has also designed and led several technology training courses internationally.
Mr. Afergan also has a distinguished academic research career. At MIT's Laboratory for Computer Science and at Harvard, he has conducted research in the areas of networking and distributed systems. This includes the impact of economic incentives on networked systems, reliable networking and content distribution protocols, and wireless protocols and architectures. He has authored a number of academic publications on these topics and has served as a teaching fellow and guest lecturer at Harvard University.
His work has won him several industry accolades, and he is an invited speaker in a variety of industry and academic forums.

Ralph de la Vega, group president-Regional Telecommunications and Entertainment, is responsible for overall leadership in regional wireline, including consumer, regional business sales and network. He was appointed to his current position in January 2007, after the close of the merger between AT&T, BellSouth and Cingular.

He has held numerous positions of increasing responsibility in Network Planning, Consumer Services, Engineering and Operations — including a rotational assignment at Telcordia (Bellcore) — and was responsible for all BellSouth Telecommunications Network Operations in Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.
A native of Cuba, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree from Florida Atlantic University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Northern Illinois University, and he has completed the Executive Program at the University of Virginia.

Eric Hadley, CMO of Heavy Corporation, manages all sales, marketing and ad operations for the company. Jayant Kadambi has over 18 years of experience in the areas of networking, hardware architecture and semiconductors. Prior to co–founding YuMe in 2004, Jayant was Vice President R&D and Officer of Netopia, Inc., a publicly held manufacturer of DSL equipment and service provider for ISP’s and carriers. Jayant joined Netopia upon its acquisition in 1999 of StarNet Technologies, a VoDSL company he had co–founded. Dina Kaplan is a Co-Founder of blip.tv and serves as the company's COO. Dina oversees business operations for the company with a particular focus on advertising and sponsorships, PR and marketing.
Before blip.tv, Dina was a news reporter with WNBC in New York, Wave3 News (NBC) in Louisville Kentucky and News12 Long Island and New Jersey.
Dina won an Emmy for Spot News last summer and in prior years has won Society of Professional Journalists Awards for Deadline Reporting, Service Reporting and Feature Reporting and Associated Press Awards for Best Feature and for Breaking Spot News.

Prior to joining Lions Gate, Mr. Miller was Executive Vice President of Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE). Mr. Miller was responsible for the television operations of SPE and was actively involved with strategic planning and new media. Mr. Miller's divisions included over 750 individuals with annual revenues of $1.4 billion and EBITDA of roughly $180 million.
From 1990-1995, Mr. Miller was Executive Vice President of Turner Network Television, with responsibility for production, business affairs and original programming for the TNT Network. Mr. Miller's responsibilities included oversight of $100 million in annual original programming, scheduling and marketing both the NBA and the NFL and the management and day to day operations of a 256 person team. During this period, Turner Network Television grew from 34 million subscribers and $240 million in revenues to 55 million subscribers and $525 million in revenues with 150 million in free cash flow. In 1997, Mr. Miller took on the additional responsibility for the Turner Entertainment Company, which spearheads the utilization of Turner's library of more than 3,000 motion picture titles.

Herb Scannell was most recently Vice Chairman of MTV Networks and President of Nickelodeon Networks. Mr. Scannell also led the Consumer Products division of Nickelodeon and Viacom, which under his watch grew into the third largest licensing business in the world.

Tim Tuttle is responsible for AOL video search technology initiatives. Prior to joining Sony in 2002, Wayne served as Vice President, Business Development for Yahoo! Music/Launch Media. Wayne was part of the core team that grew the online music media company from start-up through IPO and ultimately its acquisition by Yahoo! While at Launch Media, Wayne developed and managed relationships with the company's largest investors and revenue-generating clients in the United States and internationally.
Prior to working at Launch Media, Wayne was Manager, Marketing Development for the ABC Television Network. At ABC he developed and executed online and on-air promotions with corporate partners including American Airlines, McDonalds and Sony Electronics.
A multifaceted media executive, Wayne in 1995 founded Velvet Magazine, the first English-language, city magazine in Eastern Europe. The magazine was published in Prague, Czech Republic and covered cultural, social and style topics for the newly democratic country.
Wayne received his Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from The University of the South, Sewanee, TN.
Chief Creative Officer, Joost
Henrik Werdelin is responsible for Joost’s creative and product development. He also manages the distribution and content operations team. Previously, he was the vice president of product development and strategy for MTV Networks International, where he spearheaded the development of many of MTV's award winning innovative products, including TV formats, broadband channels and mobile games. Henrik has also worked for the BBC as an associate producer and for MTV France, GameOne and MTV Games Europe, where he was in charge of content and creative strategy. He has worked with such clients as BBC Worldwide, Coca-Cola and Walt Disney Television, and is considered an expert in subjects such as interactive storytelling and reaching the youth market.

George Zachary joined Charles River Ventures in 2004. He brings more than 17 years of operating and investing experience in computing and consumer technology. George's focus is on building great services and software technology companies. George led CRV's investments in Areae, Geni.com, GoTV, Skyrider, Twitter and is on each company's board of directors.
Previously, he was a general partner at Mohr Davidow Ventures (MDV). His directorships included: Accrue Software (Nasdaq:ACRU), Andale, Critical Path (Nasdaq: CPTH), Ovation Entertainment, Sandcastle (acquired by Adobe, Nasdaq:ADBE), Securify (acquired by Kroll-O'Gara, Nasdaq: KROG), Shutterfly, Supertracks (acquired by Centerspan) and Telebot (acquired by Z-Tel, Nasdaq: ZTEL).
Prior to MDV, George led the Nintendo 64 development business at Silicon Graphics, managed sales and marketing for virtual reality pioneer VPL Research, and served as a product marketeer at CATS Software. He is a board advisor at the MIT Sloan School of Business and Stanford BASES. He is also an advisor to X PRIZE. George earned a joint BS from MIT and MIT Sloan School of Business.
